Luton based Shri Guru Ravidass Sangat awarded a King's Award for Voluntary Service for their outstanding work in the community
The Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire Susan Lousada was pleased to attend the presentation of The King's Award for Voluntary Service to Guru Ravidass Sangat Luton on Sunday 2nd March.
The Lord Lieutenant was warmly welcomed to the Cardigan Street congregation and joined by Deputy Lieutenant Robert Oakley as well as esteemed guests including The Bishop of Bedford, Richard Atkinson.
The event, organised by community leaders, was a wonderful display of a community that has devoted its time and energy to helping others. The King's Award for Voluntary Service celebrates the outstanding work of local volunteer groups across the UK.
The award highlights how members of the community have been meeting the needs of disadvantaged individuals and communities across Luton for the past 40 years.
