20th Anniversary of Canine Partners
Wed 19th August 2026
HM Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Mrs Susan Lousada joined Canine Partners in Bedford as they celebrated their remarkable 20th anniversary.
HM Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Mrs Susan Lousada writes "It was a great pleasure to join Canine Partners in Bedford as they celebrated their remarkable 20th anniversary. For two decades, the Bedford team has helped to create life-changing partnerships between expertly trained assistance dogs and people with physical disabilities, bringing greater independence, confidence and companionship. The celebration had an extraordinary sense of warmth and friendship. Puppy parents, fosterers, fundraisers and supporters all come together as one very special Canine Partners family, united by their shared love of the charity and its life-changing work. It was also a pleasure to recognise Lorraine, whose long-standing dedication, commitment and quiet leadership have played such an important part in the success and spirit of the Bedford satellite. The Bedford team has become a true exemplar for other Canine Partners locations. My warmest congratulations to everyone who has contributed to this tremendous achievement, and my very best wishes for the next 20 years."
