Opening of Bedford Foodbank

Bedford Foodbank opens their new premises in Bedford. HM The Lord Lieutenant was joined by Tom Wootton, Mayor of Bedford, FACES Bedford & Love In A Bag, Bedford for the celebration.

On Saturday 3rd February, 2024, HM The Lord Lieutenant Susan Lousada joined the Bedford Foodbank team to open their new premises. 

Bedford Foodbank have moved to their new warehouse distribution centre in Bedford, Bedfordshire, and were joined by team members, the charity FACES and Tom Wootton, Mayor of Bedford. 

The new warehouse will allow FACES, a Bedfordshire based charity who works with families to build better futures to operate from the same space.

The Lord Lieutenant celebrated this event with cutting the ribbon to officially open the space as well as joining volunteers for tea and cake. The Lord Lieutenant also met with team members from Love in a Bag, Bedford and the ethnic Foodbank who operate out of Queen's Park, Bedford. 

Further to the warehouse being opened, SDC Builders have donated vans to the Foodbank for their collections. 

The Lord Lieutenant thanked and recognised the tremendous work that volunteers do day in, day out for the vulnerable members of our community.
