After one month of fasting in Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims all over the world. The month of Ramadan teaches peace, kindness, respect and tolerance. On the day of Eid, a Muslim vows to keep alive the spirit of morality and virtue that Ramadan has instilled in them. Hence Eid becomes a day of celebration and happiness.
Eid Milan aims to share this happiness with others and to promote values of love and brotherhood among different communities. Neighbours, friends and acquaintances from all faiths and religions are invited to attend. These Eid Milan functions strengthen the bond of love and brotherhood between the people of different communities and become exemplars of pluralism and mutual respect.
The event took place at the Chiltern hotel in Luton and whilst there, the Lord-Lieutenant met with His Excellency the High Commissioner of Pakistan, Dr. Mohammad Faisal.
